Well, it actually is discipline. It’s a different way of disciplining. In this kind of limit setting, you’re teaching your child to say “No” to self. If I say, “The wall is not for marking on, the paper is for marking on,” and the child stops himself or herself, who made the child stop?

The child did.

And it would work later when they get angry, instead of abusing someone.
